  • If you're not into buying things that you already own, this is the CD for you! Yes - This is HALL & OATES "GREATEST HITS" PKG, although the title doesn't explicitly state it as such. Therefore, duh, the single edits are what you end up hearing on this item. This is for people like myself who don't already own the albums that these songs are from. As a gift to the hopelessly devoted Hall & Oates fans who think they're committing treason if they take a pass on something that has their name on it, this album includes a couple of re-worked or previously unreleased tunes, but the meat of this album are songs such as "You Make My Dreams", "Kiss On My List", "Maneater", "Rich Girl"...there's a few songs I can do without personally. "Sarah Smile" is not my fav. I really like "Say It Isn't So" and "Family Man". If I'm remembering correctly, this version of "Say It Isn't So" is a re-worked version with added bassyness, kind of like the 1987 re-working of Steve Winwood's "Valerie" (I seriously cringe when listening to the one from ARC OF A DIVER) or the Phil Collins produced variant of Howard Jones' "No One Is To Blame" (another song that just sounds seriously anemic in its original form).
